Foot fracture Brick
Any time a bone in your body becomes fractured, it's essential that you get prompt treatment. And when that bone is in your foot or ankle, you should turn to us at the office of Dr. Theodore D'Amato. Get treatment for a foot fracture form our specialist.
Although many times, your
foot fracture Brick can be the result of a severe impact such as those that result from sports, it's also true that something as simple and common as tripping and falling or twisting your foot in an unusual position may have the same result. You could also drop something heavy on your foot or have it caught inside or under something that puts excessive pressure on your bones. If you have bone density problems, including osteoporosis, then your susceptibility is even greater. You might be certain that you have a foot fracture Brick, or you could simply know that you have suffered an injury but not be quite sure what the nature of it is. For example a hairline fracture of the ankle can be mistaken for a sprain, and other fractures of the foot area could be confused with muscle strains or inflammation from conditions such as gout or plantar fasciitis. Our podiatrist will examine your foot and take x-rays. The good news is that if the fracture is clean, it will most likely heal on its own without any intervention. You will probably need a cast to immobilize it, and crutches or a walker to avoid any stress on the foot during recovery. If the break is not clean, surgery could be required to set it properly. If so, our podiatrist will perform the procedure. Healing often takes longer in such cases.
For your
foot fracture Brick, or even the suspicion of it, reach out to our office right away to arrange a timely appointment.
